Summer capsule 17: wrap up.

Aug 28, 2017 | 0 comments

/ Summer is coming to an end, and so I thought I would gather my thoughts on this season’s capsule wardrobe. Summer has almost been non existent here in Denmark this year. We have had temperatures around 19 degrees and rain most days over the summer. Therefore, I haven’t used all of my season based products nearly as much as I had hoped for and generally many of my outfits have been a little autumn-like. But in fact, I’m really looking forward to autumn! It’s my favorite season when it comes to dressing, because then I can finally pull on my fluffy sweaters, wear all of my boots (even more) and my pull out my wool coats. Outfits & favourite products. This season, I decided to take 1-2 series of outfit photos every week, and the above are some of my personal favourites. I have especially been using my leather jacket and my black blazer a lot (layering is good in turbulent weather and with weird temperatures) and I also wore my light blue jeans from Levi’s and my white jeans quite a lot. My love for jeans have been crystal clear this time around, haha! The number of summer outfits is almost non existent when I browse through my pictures, but I have used both my slip-on sandals and my leopard flats a lot. So I did feel kind of summer-like on my feet, but I would like to have had the opportunity to use my summer products even more. My absolute favourite uniform at the moment is a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a blazer. This summer something also happened with me jewelry-wise, and I have almost only been using my golden jewelry this season. Normally I would prefer my silver jewelry, but right now I just love the warm and feminine expression my gold jewelry gives my outfits. This year I have been in love with espadrils with laces like these and I think it looks super cool both with a denim skirt and jeans in general. If I’m still in love with this type of shoe next year, I may be buying a pair next year. I just couldn’t figure out if they were more one of those trend items that have been around this year, but you may not want to go for them next year, so I’d rather wait.

Outfits & yndlingsprodukter. Min kærlighed til jeans må virkelig siges, at have været tydelig denne gang, haha!

Tips for next season. Right now I’m really comfortable with the fact that I’m just not a dress-girl but more a jeans-girl. I would like to become better at mixing up my combinations of blazer/jeans/t-shirt even more the coming season. I have completely fallen for a checked blazer on the second hand webshop Asos Marketplace (this one) and would love to have it in rotation with my classic black blazer and my white pinstriped blazer to create a little more variety. Since I’ve been really happy to use my gold jewelry, I’m making a small wish list so I can make my collection even stronger. Often, I invest in gold-plated sterling silver, and it is usually also in the more budget-friendly part of the scale. Unfortunately, the durability of the budget-friendly jewelry is not as long as I had hoped so I hope I will be able to save up for a necklace like this one, a bracelet like this one and a pair of statement earrings like these. I think that when you dress pretty minimal and also keep your makeup on a minimum, the jewelry makes a huge difference to your looks. I’d like to become even better at layering my jewelry Anine Bing-style!

The red color. The attentive reader knows that this season I tried to incorporate a pop of red into my wardrobe and it went so well! I get so many compliments every time I wear my red jumper and I’ve been so fond of it that I’ve decided to bring it along in my fall capsule instead of packing it away for next summer. It has almost become a part of my basic wardrobe more than a seasonal product! I generally think I’ve developed a better understanding of how to bring in a little colour while still being true to my love for the more monochrome outfits.
