My current capsule: spring 2020.

Let me start by saying that I hope you’re all doing alright! In the light of the coronavirus we’re all in a state of emergency allover the world, and we all handle the situation with different emotions. And that’s okay. Some people feel better when they talk about what’s going on, others feel better if they distract themselves. All types of emotions are okay right now. You know best what works for you! The most important thing is of course to keep yourself updated (to an extend that seems doable for you) and follow your local authorities.

In any case I hope my content can still provide you with the mental break some of you already come here for; maybe even more so now. Even though the situation is like it is, I’ll keep up with my weekly schedules and routines as per usual – because it gives me energy too, to let my creativity (and positivity) flow and share it with you along the way. I’ve already written down a list with ideas for content both for Youtube, IGTV and in here. A lot of it is requested by you lot, so I can’t wait to start digging into that <3

Today we’re going to talk about my spring capsule! Recently I did my big seasonal wardrobe switchover (documented in the video in the bottom of this post), and I’ve also planned to do a vlog soon, where I’m playing around with my wardrobe and coming up with different types of outfits for the spring season.

As mentioned in my first post of the little spring series, I’m so into the neutral palette of beige/light blue and monochromes right now, and I think they are perfect for the spring season. Even though these light colors are not what I have most of in my wardrobe, they make a huge difference to me. The light blue colour and then the more bold red one has really given my wardrobe that spring feel that I’ve been missing so much. I wouldn’t necessarily style all these items with each other (I would never wear the blue blazer with the red jumper for example, it’s too much for me haha), but still they are not hard to style on their own either. I have plenty of lovely neutral and monochrome colours in my wardrobe, that they will both look great with.

So I guess with this I just wanted to say, that even though one of the most important things about a capsule wardrobe is that it is versatile and can be mixed and matched, you are allowed to have a few things that are more isolated too. It’s just important to remember that this is not the kind of items you have most of in your wardrobe. Because that’s where you will start to feel overwhelmed, and it will make it harder for you to put nice outfits together from day to day!

My spring capsule is mostly old faves in a new way. Some of them are basic which I have in my wardrobe pretty much all year round, a few are from my storage boxes and then I’ve added 2 new things. The navy blue dress is one that I bought in a vintage store in Berlin recently. My idea was to style it with skinny jeans, light jackets/blazers and jumpers during spring, and then as it is as we get closer to the summer season. It’s so lovely, and even though I don’t wear dresses all that much the styling possibilities are endless, and I feel surprisingly amazing when I wear it. So I’m sure it will be a winner! I’m thinking I’m going to try and create some of these outfits in that styling video I mentioned before, which I’ll soon publish on my Youtube channel.

Besides the dress there is the light blue blazer I’m wearing in these photographs. Isn’t she a beaut? I bought it on Trendsales (a Danish 2ndhand shop) and it’s from Ganni if you are wondering. It’s made in a wool mix so I guess it’s sort of a hybrid between a blazer and a coat. It makes it perfect for the spring season I think, because it can still be rather chilly this time of year. I’ve chosen to change the buttons on it too, by the way. The brown ones were not what I would have chosen for it, had I been the designer behind, and they were actually quite poorly attached too. So I replaced them with some nice matching blue buttons instead. That makes the jacket a lot more light and spring appropriate!

Your blog is so fab, I really love it. Do you aim for a certain number of clothes in your capsule? I also asked this question before but I am still not totally clear – you use CLADWELL to make this cool visual of your spring capsule? Or is this a Photoshop example?

Thank you so much!! <3 You're so kind! I usually end up between 35-40 items, that seems to be my magic number. 🙂 If I have more it's very likely that there will be items there that I end up not really using. Bu it's very individual! These visuals are made in photoshop, but I also use Cladwell in my daily life 🙂 Signe x
