Blazer-season is ON.

Thanks to autumn and the fact that I am finally able to wear my favourite style-uniform again, I feel like I’m back to my normal self after a good, long (and warm) summer!) I have 3 blazers in my basic wardrobe, which I wear on rotation every single week. Not because I HAVE to or have a job that requires me to do so, but simply because I feel like the best version of myself whenever I wear a well-cut blazer. I like my blazers to be a bit longline and slightly oversized, but that sit well on my body at the same time so I wont drown in it. By the way I’ve heard that Everlane plans on restocking my favourite grey blazer very soon, so keep an eye on the shop if you’re still crushing on it. Otherwise I’ve found some great alternatives below.

This time of year I love using my blazers as outerwear. I think it looks so cool with both a jumper or even a more relaxed hoodie underneath. And then I’m just forever a fan of contrasts like comfy sneaks and a pair of edgy jeans together with my well-cut jackets. Things are not supposed to be too neat for me, you know!

Besides Everlane I don’t really know that many other ethical brands that make beautiful blazers, and the ones I have n my own wardrobe are not only from brands of such either. In this category good quality and a perfect fit is my own mark of sustainability in the long run, and the black one I’m wearing here is from a Danish brand called InWear and I’ce had it for around 6 years. It just keeps being as beautiful as when I first bought it. Right there I think it’s important that you do what makes sense to you. I also have a vintage blazer in my autumn capsule which I bought on Asos Marketplace last year. It is so beautiful! So going for secondhand is a great option too. And if you happen to stumble upon a vintage blazer with a nice fabric or pattern but a terrible fit, it is often because of the shoulder pads. Just cut them out, then you’ll have yourself a brand new and more modern blazer! When it comes to sizing I like to size up in my jackets, depending on the overall fit and design. If the jacket is designed to be oversized I’ll go for my regular size 36/small. If it’s more regular I will probably size up to a 38/medium. Again, I like it better when the overall outfit doesn’t look too polished.

Besides wearing my blazers on a daily basis I also like using them as outerwear or as a part of my outfit at special occasions. I was recently attending a wedding where I wore a black silk cami, navy pleated skirt and then my grey Everlane blazer just as a jacket outside. I think the grey colour gave such a nice, soft contrast to the outfit! And if you’re not much of a dress girl at special occasions a suit is so cool. I even wear suits with sneaks and a t-shirt for a daily look as well! It’s so easy and simple but at the same time a little bit badass.

Blazers are a favourite for me as well. Work requires me to dress smart casual, so blazers are great to spice up a dress or shirt. I’ve been eyeing the grey Everlane blazer for ages haha, already pre-ordered it :). Another option for gorgeous blazers is Ivy + Oak. A sustainable German brand. I have a stunning pair of corduroy trousers and a blouse from them and the quality is absolutely amazing.
