The lazy girl smokey eye: an ode to low maintenance makeup | AD

Am I the only one who’s already excited about December and the festive season in general? I know it’s a bit (a lot) too early to be thinking about but you know, time flies and I’m sure that before we know it December is already here. The first Christmas parties will kick off already from next month, so therefore I actually thought it was perfect timing to share a little festive makeup inspiration with you guys. I’m also gonna be doing some content over on Youtube with lots of inspiration for really simple but amazing party looks, that you can create with things you probably already have in your wardrobe.

This post is made in collaboration with Miild to celebrate the fact that they are now not only available in Denmark – they are also available in Germany and the UK via Klarify.me! Therefore I’ve been so lucky to treat one of you guys with some of my absolute favourite products of theirs, so I’ve got a giveaway going on over on my Instagram if you’re keen on participating in that – the competition is only for those of you who are living in either Germany or UK though. The winner will get 1x concealer palette, 1x concealer brush, 1x mineral powder and 1x kabuki brush. This is the best starter-kit if you’ve been wanting to try Miild for some time, and I use these products myself every single day! I’ll pick a winner the 31.10.18.

As mentioned in my last makeup tutorial, one of the things I love about Miild is the fact that basically all of their products are multi-purpose. In this post I’ve given you my version of the “lazy girl smokey eye”. In general I’m not too crazy about full-coverage makeup looks, and I like it when my makeup is simple, natural and easy to maintain and touch up throughout the day and night. But of course that’s just my personal opinion! When I do want to give my look a little extra somethin’ somethin’ though, I like to focus on the eyes. A quick, easy and soft smokey eye has been a favourite of mine for years and it’s a look that is perfect to do if you’re going from desk to dancefloor in no time.

If you want to see how I do my base using Miild’s products, you can get a glimpse of that right HERE. Otherwise I start by priming my eyelids with the concealer, and then I apply the dark colour from the Light Earth palette on the entire lid. After that I apply the light colour in the Dark Stone palette in the outer V and in the crease, and I also drag a bit of it down along the lower lash line. Finally I finish up the look with a couple layers of mascara and some highlighter on the brow bone and in the inner corners of my eyes. Again I don’t apply any mascara on the bottom lashes, because I just like it better without. I feel like it’s more natural, even though this look is not what you would categorize as natural. But you know what I mean 😉

Small necklace from Neinties | Large necklace from Pamela Card

A brown smokey eye like this suits most people I think, and again it takes no time to make. Also if you make sure to really blend in the shadows it will last all night as well! I love putting together simple outfits and combine it with a makeuplook like this, and then also add a bit of extra bling with some gold jewelry for example. No matter what less is more is a winner for me, even when it comes to the festive season. What makes the real difference is all the little details (so kliché, but so true). And a big hooray for the fact that Miild is now available to more women in the world!
