My top 5 wardrobe favourites of 2017.

Dec 16, 2017 | 2 comments

2017 became the year where I decided to part my capsule wardrobe into 2: min everyday wardrobe consists of 80% all-year basics and 20% seasonals, that are meant to spice up my basic wardrobe and make it more suitable for the coming season in general. You can read more about that HERE. I don’t know if someone else came up with this that I don’t know of, but in my head this is someting I came up with all by myself… ahem, anyway this has just made it a lot easier for me to control my need for ned items but also to style my outfits everyday and every season. I’ve never had such a balanced feeling towards my wardrobe (okay chill, it’s just clothes – but take this from someone who used to be a shopaholic), and even though I love using all the things I have in my wardrobe there are a few highlights from this past year, that I’m looking back at and feeling really pleased about.

1. My vintage Levi’s jeans.

It may come as no surprise that these are the first thing I mention on this list. I think I reach for these at least 2 times during the week, and if you scroll down through my Instagram feed, it’s pretty clear that I’ve been living in these jeans all year. Spoiler alert; it probably wont be any different next year….

2. My Acne Jensen boots.

This is probably one of the best wardrobe investments I’ve done the past year. Like with my Levi’s jeans, you’ll notice on all my social platforms that I’ve been really happy about using these boots. I recently dedicated an entire post and a video to these boots. You can get a closer look on that HERE.

3. My blazers – the vintage one in particular.

This year I really got into the drill of wearing “jeans, blazer and a tee” and this is still my favourite uniform. My check vintage blazer has especially been a favourite during autumn. It’s made in the most gorgeous wool/cashmere blend and it’s perfect for transitional weather with a knitted jumper or just as it is with a t-shirt underneath for the days I’m working at the office. I recently got contacted by Everlane that so kindly wanted to send some basics for me to test out, and I had to ask for THIS blazer. You’re gonna be part of my basic wardrobe, you pretty thing.

4. My striped top from Everlane.

Speaking of Everlane I’ve been loving my striped breton top from their collection, and I’ve been using it a lot since I ordered it over the summer. It’s become a replacement for another breton striped top I had from Cos, that after 5 years had just become in such bad shape that it was no good anymore. It was one of those items I reached for at least 2 times a week, but it went out of production. Such a shame, it was such a good wardrobe staple. I’ve kept it for future gardening though. But then I found this one from Everlane, and it works just as well. Win!

Win!

5. My detachable gold chain for my handbags.

One of the more recent purchases I made in 2017 was my detachable gold chain from the Danish Noir Desire. Ever since receiving the chain it’s pimped up several of my handbags, when I’ve been in the mood for some extra bling. I love this slightly more exclusive look it brings to my handbags, and it’s just a simple and cool way of spicing up an older bag.
